Interview with Misti Dawn
With the success of the previous Eufrat and Camille Crimson interviews I’ve been pursuing new interview subjects. The first new interview of what is sure to be many awesome interviews coming in the next weeks and months is with the lovely, tattoo adorned redhead Misti Dawn.
You’ve seen Misti on here plenty, where we celebrate “Misti Dawn Monday,” and you probably follow her on twitter where her handle is “meowmistidawn.” That’s where I first found her several months back and have been keenly keeping an eye on what she’s been up to ever since. Misti launched her own website, meowmistidawn.com, this summer and has already posted some fantastic new photo sets to it. Here we discuss her fans, Scott Pilgrim, the Sookie Stackhouse novels, getting it on with Anne Boleyn, and moving to LA, among other things.
Blogoporno.com: A fun speculative question to get things going. If you could shoot a scene with anyone (and anyone means literally anyone past, present, future, real or fiction) who would it be and what would the scene be?
Misti Dawn: Laugh if you want but I would totally bang Anne Boleyn. She was intelligent, resourceful, and much more powerful than people know. She started one of the first universities in England and shes flipping hot. I just picture us in Tudor Dresses with hot bodices and crowns while on a solid wood dinning table in front of a fire place with Henry VIII watching while holding a chalice full of red wine.
BoP: I know you’ve been talking about wanting to play Mary Jane in Spider-Man XXX, whether that comes around or not do you plan on having similarly nerdy themed scenes and sets on your own site? You did the one with the Green Lantern statue in the background, will there be a Misti Dawn Batgirl set some day soon?
MD: Oh, now that I am in LA and have plenty of willing participants and people to shoot it, I have a Silent Hill themed scene i’m shooting for the site soon (all I’ll say is pyramid head) and a Fall Out Vault scene coming up! Maybe I’ll be Batgirl too!
BoP: You seem pretty accessible, you’ve got your twitter account and you’ve got formspring where you answer questions pretty regularly. Sometimes being that available you are exposed to the self-righteous and the obtuse, but you also seem to have some pretty kick ass fans. Do you feel like making yourself so available is necessary for being in the industry today?
MD: First off, yes I have the best flipping fans ever! Yes, flipping! I’ve been really lucky I dont get hardly any hate mail and everyone is real sweet and not in a talk dirty to me all the time way, in a lets actually get to know each other way. I definitely think making yourself available helps tremendously, especially when you’re a heavily tattooed girl, alot of companies won’t take a risk on shooting you but if you can prove you have a following already it helps over weigh that to get them to take a risk.
BoP: You just moved out to California from the midwest how has the transition been?
MD: Really amazing, I already knew a lot of people here so that helped a lot. The weather is beautiful and I’m in a place where I am accepted as me! Maybe i can get some hot dates now ha.
BoP: You’ve talked about becoming a veterinarian and a sex therapist. Any particular draw to the medical fields?
MD: I’ve always been fascinated with the way things work and after majoring in Biology and realizing math is not my strong point and not to mention vet school is $$, at the recommendation of my advisor I tried some psych classes and loved it. For me its the perfect combination of figuring out how things work with out the algebra to rape my head. I obviously am fascinated by sex as well, so perhaps porn could be a case study for me one day.
BoP: You’re a gamer and a nerd, did you see “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” and did you love it?
MD: Um DUH! saw it two days before it even came out suckkka! I love having Nerd friends :D and yes, I LOVE Edgar Wright and Jason Schwartzman (I ran in to him on the streets of NYC once too!). The movie was pretty amazing, much better than I thought I highly recommend!
BoP: Do you have a favorite film or book? Is there anything recent that you really enjoyed?
MD: Well, on the drive out here I did the audio books for all the Sookie Stackhouse books. Wow, the show is great but the sex in the book is even better! Before that I read Abe Lincoln: Vampire hunter, highly recommend as well.
BoP: What do you like to do outside of your modeling work? Reading? Sports? School? Charity work?
MD: I was in college till last december and I just couldn’t balance the traveling with class anymore, so I plan to wait a year and become a CA resident and get instate tuition and get back in school to finish up. I try to help animals any way and time I can.
BoP: Is there anything in particular you’d like to share with my readers? New projects?
MD: I’m working really hard on my site to be able to update videos one a week and now I am doing my first live cam chat (with sound unlike the 24/7 cams) Sunday September 5th 05:00pm - 07:00pm EDT.
